About
A Guidebook of Alternative Nows
In their book The End of Capitalism (as we knew it), the theory collective J.K. Gibson-Graham state that
by continuing to fetishize capitalism as the dominant economical model in the West, we legitimize its
force and increase its power. By simply researching alternatives that are already present and currently
created A Guidebook of Alternative Nows re-interprets the present and near future as more sustainable,
diverse, just and hopeful than that which is usually depicted.
Ideas with the most visibility are often those that are those backed by the most powerful people. A Guidebook of Alternative Nows explores other ideas, undermining the powerful and expanding the possible.
The book features alternatives suggested by artist, collectives, philosophers, activists, and those who mix these roles.
