I haven't had chance to fly yet, but I got CHDK running on pair of A1200s (New CHDK release has different settings options from writeup on our PLOTS dual camera instructions. Minor, appears to work the same, triggering both on second pulse. I haven't gotten one converted to IR yet (I watched Jeff's video again, but wanted to see the pair was working in order and try test flight first.). The Al rig is outfitted with new "spendy" ball bearings from Brooks Laffler and ready to go for testing. However, I ran out of helium and as I noted in prior post, I hit my first helium shortage. Since then, have not caught winds right to be able to use kites.

As watch the video, notice the 1) apparent staggering of triggering, seemingly remedied by restart and 2) multiple relay clicks between photos. Apparently triggering more rapidly than camera shoot store, ready cycle.
Note and more to follow.

Today, I ran into my first helium shortage incident here in Livermore, CA. Alliance Welding Supplies advised they were out of their allocation, but expected would be able to fill my 80 scf tank this week. I left it with them. Glad I hadn't set up a commitment to fly.
I asked about priorities, if educational and research applications like mapping would be higher than party balloons. One guy, not sure if company policy or his own views, or if they are applying the criteria in rationing supply said; first, life - as in medical uses, or medical R&D; then perhaps welding - making things, both higher than "filling balloons." He had to answer phone before could discuss further. Another guy said they used to have reserve of 100 helium cylinders, now they have zero.
So, plan ahead, so don't get surprised.
