Nitrates are pretty widespread in their natural form. Groundwater is a
path for their entry into wells and other drinking sources. You will
find this updated report on what is occurring in Chippewa County, WI, as
a result of the work of the Chippewa County Land Conservation and Forest
Management Committee, the Ad Hoc Committee on finding alternative water
sources for rural residents, and the work of other researchers. We can't
overlook the importance of safe drinking water when it comes to the
health safety and welfare of residents in western Chippewa County or in
other counties where frac sand mining operations are located.
