GOOGLE DRIVE BACKUP UTILITY USING RCLONE

Dear Friends

This tool is developed in Visual FoxPro 9, using Rclone.exe to upload and manage backups securely on Google Drive. Google provides 15GB of free cloud storage, which makes this method a reliable and cost-free backup solution for VFP applications and databases.

Purpose:

To provide a simple and automated way for VFP users to back up their data files/Project to Google Drive.
To help the community use modern cloud storage without complicated APIs.
To avoid dependency on paid hosting or complex cloud code


Features:

Uses Rclone for safe, encrypted cloud communication.
Automatically uploads backup files to Google Drive.
Supports scheduled backups.
Works on any Windows PC.

How It Works:

User configures Google Drive using Rclone (one-time setup).
VFP program prepares backup ZIP/DBF or any files.
Tool calls rclone.exe via RUN /N or ShellExecute to upload files.
Backup stored in Google Drive folder defined by the user.


System Requirements:

Windows 7/8/10/11
Visual FoxPro 9 Runtime
Rclone.exe (included or downloadable)

Release Type:
Free to use for community.

Additional Notes:

Rclone must be configured using rclone config to link Google Drive.
If the user faces a 401 authentication error, they must re-authenticate Rclone with a new OAuth token.
