Celina, so sorry to hear about this violation, and having just seen the news reports of the horrible graffiti scaring the Greek Orthodox Cathedral, one of our most generous community institutions.
Please report the crime and submit a police report, the non-emergency operators can assist on the phone 777-3333, and offer additional advise. Vandalism can also be reported online at: https://reporting.oaklandnet.com/start-report.html
It is best to take a picture before painting over, in case the tag is repeated or someone is identified.
The Oaklanders Assistance Center is also an excellent resource, mostly for issues with public property, but some private:

In general, with nicer weather, more sun, spring break and summer coming, this behavior will increase. Report suspicious behavior/people and get to know your neighbors.

Our house was tagged last night and I was going to paint over it today. My
husband suggested that I email the community to see if there was a procedure for
