Subject: [PSA4] Meet OPD Chief Howard Jordan - Neighborhood Watch Steering Committee Meeting, April 22

Greetings Everyone,

There will be a Neighborhood Watch Steering Committee Meeting on Wednesday, April 22, 2009, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., at City Hall, 1 Frank Ogawa Plaza, in Hearing Room 4.  All Neighborhood Watch and Neighborhood Crime Prevention Council participants, and anyone active in Neighborhood and Community Groups, are invited to attend this event.  We have a very special guest speaker for you this month:

HOWARD JORDAN - Police Chief (Interim), Oakland Police Department
Chief Jordan will discuss his vision, goals and upcoming changes for the Oakland Police Department, including the roles that Neighborhood Watch and Neighborhood Crime Prevention Councils will play in these changes.  I recommend that all Block Captains and NCPC leaders consider attending this meeting.  A question and answer session will follow Chief Jordan's presentation.

Please forward this invitation to your neighbors and friends.

Please RSVP to attend this meeting.  You may send an RSVP to Felicia Verdin at fverdin@oaklandnet.com or you may contact Felicia at 238-3128.  Validated parking in the Clay Street Garage at 14th and Clay Streets is provided.  Please bring your parking stub to the meeting for validation.

Chair, Oakland Neighborhood Watch Steering Committee
