Dallas Liquor held up on Thurs April 1st

Thought everyone should know...

Dallas Liquor at the corner of Laguna and MacArthur was robbed at
gunpoint last night around 11:30 pm, just prior to closing. Three men
wearing masks came into the store, jumped behind the counter,
physically beat and held down both Tran and Linda who work in the
store, and took all money in the register plus wallets, cell phones,
etc. The perpetrators also kicked down the back door, looking for a
safe. Linda and Tran are both very shaken up and were hurt but not
seriously injured. According to Linda, the guns were long, hunting
type guns, not handguns.

Police responded in about 15 mins and one suspect was caught. The
store has video surveillance which will be sent to OPD today. There
will be a report on KRON 4 tonight.

Thanks Ashley, and sorry to hear the news. I forwarded the email to our NSC, PSO, and walking officer. Our new PSO Jurell Snyder will be in the Dimond business district today checking in on a number of merchants.

In case you haven't already heard. This is the first major incident I have heard of at Dallas. Unfortunate because I have noticed a much larger police presence in Dimond all week.

According to Linda, the sales clerk, this is the second robbery at
Dallas Liquor this year and the third since their family took
ownership about two years ago. I don't know the details of the
previous incidents, but I am guessing this was the worst. Thanks
