There are a lot of files in a subdirectory of GoldMine called sync.
Where do they come from and do they need to be saved or can I purge
them? They are currently taking up about 128mb of disc space on our
server.

This is where GoldMine creates/retrieves transfer sets when using the
synchronization feature (File | Synchronize). If no synchronizing is
happening at the time, you can delete the entire GoldMine\sync FOLDER and it
will be recreated on the fly when GoldMine needs it.

However, do not delete any FILES that contain the word sync in them as those
store data and preferences regarding synchronization.
