Hi 'Miners

I think this may take some explaining, so please bear with me:

We have a contact record for one of our staff that has the following email
address attached under Profiles:

postm...@checkline.co.uk

When we receive an email from Exchange Server that is undeliverable, the
email is 're-sent' with this email address marked as the sender. Another of
our staff members goes into Email Centre and selects 'Online' to view
current email messages. When she finds an undelivered message (from:
postm...@checkline.co.uk) she reads it and decides which GoldMine user it
should be forwarded to.

So, she clicks on the 'Forward the selected message'. She then selects
'Forward to Goldmine User(s)'. Now this is the problem.
Normally, when the 'Send GoldMine E-mail' appears, the Contact field
displays the contact name from the currently open contact record. BUT, some
undelivered messages AUTOMATICALLY cause a different contact record to open
(one which is always the same and GoldMine appears to think contains the
email address postm...@checkline.co.uk but actually doesn't).

I cannot find where GoldMine would be finding this information from and why
it thinks certain undelivered emails would link to this particular contact
record?

I hope this has all made some sense! :)

Moksha,

GoldMine would do what you've described if there an "E-Mail Address" profile
exists in any contact record. If you go to the "Profiles" tab of the
contact record which GoldMine is automatically selecting, do you see any "E-
Mail Address" profiles?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, an 'Email Address' profile does exist in this
record.

Can you explain in more detail why this happens?
