I've got an AP set up to immediately send an email, and immediately schedule
a phone call and a next action. The final event is to send another email
after 30 days. The immediate events work fine, the final event doesn't
work. Is it because I don't have AP running all the time? I'm a single
user on a laptop.

Jill,

The track must somehow be scanned in 30 days time. The best way to do this
is if you are using AP's is to have it always scanning. Click (File |
Automated Processes | Execute Processes) and then choose "Scan
continuously."

The AP will not ever trigger unless they are being scanned.

Can I just run the AP scan once or twice a day or is it going to miss (skip)
something that had to be done at a specific time? I can't dedicate my
laptop to round the clock scanning.

You do not need to scan continuously. GoldMine keeps track of where in the
process the AP is. On the last event (wait 30 days) GoldMine will not
trigger it until APs are scanned 30 days after the last event in the track
was triggered. This means that if you scan once a day, the last event will
occur in 30 days. If you scan once a week, it will occur the next time APs
are scanned, after 30 days has passed. This means if the next time you scan
is 40 days, GoldMine will trigger any events that are overdue. It will not
skip the event.
