[PR IEM UTP SS] UPDATES FROM COUNCIL MEETING

Greetings my dear PR members. =)

Last night, on 15th November 2013, IEM UTP SS High Council Members had conducted a meeting to discuss the problems that we have encounter so far FOR this semester and also to receive updates from our Vice President (Mr Vinod Kanna)

Below are updates of what we have talked about last night:

1) New room for IEM UTP SS 

- we have got our own room. (YEAHHH =P) the room is LR11 at Block N (if I am not mistaken)

-the problem with this room is that we have to book a week earlier if I we plan to do/use it for any purpose (especially meeting). =( 

2)I have discussed with Mr. Vinod (our VP) about the cancellation of our trip to Camfil Farr. We cannot do anything about that one since Mr Perumal also disagree about continuing to do the trip with them. So far we manage to get a potential replacement for the company which is Grade One Marine Shipyard which situated in Lumut. All we need now is just participants. 

3)For the second trip, which we currently planning to do it at INTEL, Penang, so far there has been no feedback or response from them. I have discussed with Annie and we decided to find a backup companies in the form of Western Digital (WD) at Subang & AMD at Penang. I have received info from Annie that WD has no problem about conducting a trip to their company.

IMPORTANT NEWS:

 Please take note everyone, there will be a CSR project (probably will start some time next week or the week after that but it will be in this month) conducted by EMD Department. 

-The project is basically about raising donations for the victims at Philippines due to being hit by one of the worst typhoon. It is also to raise awareness to all UTPians regarding what is happening around the world at the moment.

There will be a CARD (KNOWN AS DONATION CARD) given to all of our members. (The purpose of the card is basically to keep track on people who are interested on giving donation so that we will have records about them. Whenever there is people who want to donate, all we need to do is write their names and their personal details on the card. The card will be keep by us. 

There will buttons provided and to be given to whoever donates for the victims.

I am not really sure about the name of the CSR project, but the motto of the project is "SKIP A MEAL, SAVE A DAY". I hope all of you will involve with this project in terms of collecting donations from all the staffs in UTP and other people as well as students. (Further information will be given during our next meeting =P )

-This project is basically was an idea by our advisor, Mr IR Perumal. Hopefully this project will be a success as it is touted to be one of the biggest project especially to us for this semester. There will be medias for the giving ceremony. 

I encourage you guys to support EMD department. Any further updates on this project will be post soon.
