invalid polling interval

Hello,

my device got a polling interval "invalid" from ntp.google.com. it happend around 12:00 a.m. Oct. 23rd 2019. Device location is Berlin Germany. It is a router with embedded linux. it keeps getting a "invalid" polling interval from the server.

does the NTP client need to suggest a polling interval first?
