Witness at the Whipple - Tomorrow (Jan 30)
|
|
|
For weeks, federal agents in Minnesota have invaded our state, abducted our neighbors, assaulted our
legal observers and murdered two of us in the streets. Now, they are now
demanding 16 of our community volunteers turn themselves in to the federal government for simply taking care of our neighbors.
We cannot let that stand. We must be brave.
Join us tomorrow,
Friday Jan 30th at 8 at the Whipple Federal Building for a
rally and short march to demand ICE Out Now and justice for those persecuted by ICE. (To get there, park in the South Parking lot, or
take
light rail to the Fort Snelling Station) Bring your whistles, your warm clothes, and your love for fellow Minnesotans.
Let’s show them–if it is a crime to love and protect our neighbor, then all of us are guilty.

Things to Consider at the Whipple
|
|
WHAT TO BRING:
- Warm, layered clothing
- A buddy
- Supportive, waterproof footwear
- ID
- Water bottle and snack
- Protest sign, flag, or banner (avoid poles and sticks or anything that could be construed as a weapon)
- Mask or scarf to protect from possible chemical irritants
Ensure phone is locked with
an 8-digit pin and that biometrics (i.e. Face ID) are turned off - or strongly consider leaving it at home. If you bring your phone, download and set up the ReadyNow app.
Write the number for the National Lawyer’s Guild (MN) 612-444-2654 on your arm in permanent marker.
WHAT
NOT
TO BRING:
- Weapons, including a pocket knife
- Drugs that aren’t prescribed to you or are not in prescription bottles
- Alcohol
- Valuables: jewelry, electronics, etc
- Kids or pets
RISK ASSESSMENT:
- The Whipple Building and the surrounding area include federal property. Incursion onto federal property
risks federal charges including long-term imprisonment.
- Agents do not stay at the Whipple and we are unclear how many will be on the complex at the start
of the protest, nor how many will be coming in or attempting to come in throughout the duration.
- There is limited parking and limited entrances to the area. Being surrounded and kettled is a real
possibility in these circumstances.
In addition, the overall situation is in constant flux between the escalation by agents and the increasingly inflammatory rhetoric
from the administration. Please evaluate your own risk and consider your own safety while standing up for your neighbors.
Choose to engage with this protest from a place of informed consent around risk. Ultimately
the decision is up to you on whether or not to participate.

Tell Target to take a stand and demand ICE OUT NOW!
|
|
|
Target has allowed ICE on their property without a warrant - to stage in their parking lots, use the bathroom, shoot propaganda videos, harass and
intimidate workers and customers, and on Jan 8th, federal agents attacked and detained two US citizens who were employees at the Richfield, MN Target.
Target claims they can't prohibit ICE from being in their 'public' spaces, so they shouldn't mind if we use their space either, right?! Saturday, we
will be showing up peacefully turn up the heat on Target and show them that we won't accept weak public statements -
we demand action! We need ICE OUT NOW!
