Hi everyone,
Looking forward to seeing you all again, along with some new faces, for another semester of Public Health Journal Club!
As Annelies said, we'd like to meet up with all this week and hear about what you've been up to over the summer and interesting public health news that has come your way since we last met. We'd like to encourage our members to share their own research and public health work experiences at PHJC this semester. Please take a moment today to fill in your availability on this Doodle:
Also, I wanted to add that Stephen Lewis will be speaking at UBC on Friday, October 21st, at 1:00 PM in the Old Auditorium (6344 Memorial Road).
Mr. Lewis is a major advocate for more urgent and effective global responses to HIV and AIDS. In addition to heading his foundation and co-directing AIDS-Free World, he is a member of the Board of Directors of the Clinton Health Access Initiative and Emeritus Board Member of the International AIDS Vaccine Initiative. Mr. Lewis also serves as a Commissioner on the newly formed Global Commission on HIV and the Law, created by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) with the support of the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS).
Please see the attached poster for more information. A number of us will be attending the talk, and it would be great to have a discussion about the talk at some point afterwards. Please join us.
Final Address from Stephen Lewis, from the XVI International Conference on AIDS, Toronto, August 2006:
Registration is required, and can be done at the NGDI website:
