Weird, but most of the time when I first try to connect to MSNBC.com
Google DNS will not resolve correctly. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm seeing the same behavior.

Me too. Mac OS X Snow Leopard. Both Safari and FF. Took Google DNS
servers out of Network settings, it works; put back in, doesn't work.

Hitting refresh always loads msnbc.com though.

Caleb, Fauzi, Tim, thanks for the reports! There was a problem, which
has been resolved.

Please try it again and let us know how it's working for you now. --PSRC

It now works, but you MUST use Safari > Empty Cache... or this will
persist.

Thanks Paul!

I'm still consistently having the issue. It's not fixed.

Bryan, sorry to hear that, and thanks for your report. I'm not having
any problems with that site, and I'm not seeing any problems resolving
that name from any location.

Where are you? (Sometimes problems are location-specific.) What do the
commands mentioned at:
http://code.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using.html#troubleshooting
report?

Hope this helps. --PSRC

I'm having the same problem. It is intermittent. 80% of the time the
link resolves, but 20% or so it does not.

I'm in Honolulu.

What does your tracert/traceroute output look like from Honolulu?

When I do nslookup http://www.msnbc.msn.com I get the following...
nslookup http://www.msnbc.msn.com
Server: 8.8.8.8
Address: 8.8.8.8#53

** server can't find http://www.msnbc.msn.com: NXDOMAIN

You need to remove the http://

nslookup www.msnbc.msn.com

Will do what you need.

Jonathan, thanks for your report. What does:
tracert -d 8.8.8.8
report?

We ask this question because it helps clarify how much the problem
might be getting to Google Public DNS. It also provides some other
information that helps diagnose problems.

Also: Are you seeing this intermittently, or consistently? (Most of
the user reports for this name seem to be describing occasional
failures. This name has a time-to-live of only thirty seconds, so it's
a name you'll query a lot if you're visiting that site.)

Thanks. --PSRC
