I'm living in China and using Google's Public DNS to resolve domains.

I've got a problem when trying to visit www.latimes.com

When I did the nslookup, I found that the result from Google's public
DNS on www.latimes.com is different from the results from Open DNS.
And unfortunately, the results from Google's public DNS leads me to an
IP address which is being blocked by the Great Firewall in China.

Google's results:

Name: a1723.g.akamai.net
Address: 63.150.131.163
63.150.131.182

Open DNS's results:

Name: a1723.g.akamai.net
Address: 72.264.53.25

This is a normal thing, it's to do with DNS Based Geo-location. It's been pretty well covered in some of the past posts to this list.

Googles DNS server's will get a result that is closer (network wise) to them than OpenDNS will as they are located in different countrys/datacenters/regions.
