Google Public DNS users-

Thanks for your interest and feedback over the past few weeks.  We've been listening and wanted to let you know that we've solved two bugs that have surfaced.

  1. Incompatibility with Apple services.  Some individuals experienced issues using Google Public DNS with Time Capsule, Back to my Mac, Quicktime streaming, and other Apple related services while using Google Public DNS.  These problems should now be solved.
  2. Private address spaces.  Some users noticed a high amount of retries on reverse lookups upon receiving a "REFUSED" rather than a "NXDOMAIN" on private IANA address spaces.  We are now responding with "NXDOMAIN".
We'll continue to work on improving Google Public DNS and look forward to more announcements in the new year.

Happy Holidays!
The Google Public DNS Team

Happy to hear that,
I hope that new DNS clusters will be brought directly into more and
more countries in the near future, just like other Google services!
