IPV 4

hi i am using a machine with Win XP Professional (Service Pack 3) as
OS
now the google dns instructions mention using ipv4 but my network
properties (TCP/IP) has IPV6 .My question is how do get IP v4. or
should i go ahead and use it just like that ?

You should have a ipv4 option a little lower if you scroll the window down.
