non-gmail address received a google drive link but had to login to download the documenty

My client sent me an email with link of google drive attachment. when I opened the link, it told me to login to download the document but I can't login with the non-gmail address and I can't login with my own google drive account either. it just showes that the account or password was wrong and I don't know what to do.
