Ghost Attachments - where did they go??????

I get a message with an attachment.

I respond to it.

The message disappears from my inbox and gets moved to my sent items

NO ATTACHMENT in the e-mail STRING .

THIS IS CATASTROPHIC - I need a legal document sent to me and I can't get it now.

GOOGLE YOU GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!
