The first is "Faith in the Halls of Power: How Evangelicals Joined the American Elite" which was referenced several times in a Washington Post article. It talks about how past Presidents (Eisenhower) managed their religious affiliations and how current candidates are treating their religious connections. The second was recommended by a friend as giving two competing views on the role of religion in America -- "American Grace -- How Religion Unites and Divides us". It sounded great but he warned me that it is very large.
