SELECTION: 25-June-2012: Aftershock: The Next Economy and America's
Future
(Robert B. Reich)
NOTE: At the June meeting we will select books for July/August/
September. Themes are: Social Policy, Health/Health Care, American
Politics, Economics. All who plan to attend the June meeting are
encouraged to select a book, with public affairs implications, in the
Social Policy, Health/Health Care, American Politics, or Economics
arenas, to present at the meeting. (You can also post suggestions to
the list-serv for consideration at the next meeting.) All proposed
titles, in addition to those in the queue, will be considered.
Reminder #1: You are encouraged to select titles that are available in
paperback
Reminder #2: You can interpret the themes as you wish. For example, a
book on Iranian/American relations can fall within the Economics,
Politics or Social Policy slots.
Reminder #3: The themes are merely those suggested by ions. Feel free
to suggest/bring titles that interest you.
ANOTHER NOTE: After three years, I am ready to pass on the role of
group facilitator (and manager of this list-serv) to any one that is
interested. Please contact me... off line at lega...@gmail.com... if
you are interested in managing/administering the Public Affairs book
group. Responsibilities include: (1) Facilitating the monthly
discussion; (2) managing the list-serv (e.g., sending out notices
twice a month and adding new members) and (3) communicating with
Politics & Prose about upcoming selections. If you are interested in
assuming these duties, or have questions about the responsibilities,
please contact me directly.
