Hi Fern and Lonna     ,

Could one of you send out the message that the group will be meeting on November 26 to discuss Tom Friedman and Michael Mandelbaum's "That Used to be Us."  I don't know how to do it.  Thanks, Barbara

Hi Tasha

Hope all is well with you and L’Shana Tova. Missed you this month.

Now, not the only reason I am writing, but the group present asked me to remind you about send out emails (I guess to remind people to come).  So what we are reading:

What we are reading:

Monday, October 22 at 7:30 p.m.

The American Way of Eating: Undercover at Walmart, Applebee's, Farm Fields and the Dinner Table (Paperback)

By Tracie McMillan

We also picked books for Nov and January, but I forgot which is which and the second book (I did tell the store at least).  I am copying Lana because 1) I could find her email, and 2) I think she  wrote it down. Finally we decided to not meet in December.

Dear Lonna and everybody,

Louise is no longer interested in maintaining the list for the group.  I have the names of the new people, but I don't know how to manage the group, nor am I interested.  Is anyone?  Thanks, Tasha

Hi all,

For those who were at the last meeting on cyber warfare and others interested.

(You may have heard this already but)  While we were wondering if/when it might be possible to get the gov't to do something about the issue, the Washington Post recently reported there was a cybersecurity bill - " to prevent large-scale cyber attacks on the national's critical infrastucture, including water supplies and the electircal grid"  which failed in the Senate, "despite strong endorsements from top military and national security officials".

Nice how timely our book discussion was!

Please, in sending out the postings could we clean up some of the junk…using ‘Cut’ wherever it is in you menus would help a lot.  Frankly, there is so much junk in this mail that I had to read it twice to make sure I saw what was relevant.  Should we really have to do that?

Thanks,

Jim

Hi everyone,

We will not have a December meeting.  Our book for the meeting on January 28 is "Marijuana Legislation" by Jonathan Caulkins.  Be there or be square!  Cheers and happy holidays, Tasha

Hi everybody,

Oops!  The title of the book is "Marijana Legalization."  Have a wonderful holiday season.  See you in January, Tasha
