Taylorian scientific management theory and classical organizational theory had several distinct elements in their hypothesis. Scientific management theory has emphasized upon the shop floor level which had underpinnings of engineering or technical work at the lowermost part of organization. Contrarily, Gulick theory has given more significance to management level in organization where managerial activities plays important role in increasing productivity.

Further, Taylor has projected scientific analysis and systemic inquiry to development of inductive theory of management which through empirical evidences had engineered scientific principles and specialization through standardization. On the other hand, Gullick theory is deductive in nature which had little empirical underpinnings . They were more a scientific observation than rationally derived tenets.

However, despite differences both the theories were prescriptive in nature which dealt with ultimate objective of increasing organizational success and efficiency. Moreover, they both emphasized on systematic scientific derivation than rule of thumb, technical aspect than human, structure and rational economic man.

Taylor's theory scientific management is mainly focus on micro leval management then gullick& Urwick mainly focus on micro as well as macro leval

Taylor belivevin order given by manager and follow by worker(they believe in centralisation) where g&u believe in decentralization

Taylor give the concept of function formanship means(4manager in planning and 4in execution )means they don't delegate there power but g& u believe manager delegate there power there subordinate so they can take division and work .

Gullick&urwick's concept span of control(one manager and they have capacity to handle the 10 sub ordinate so they handle only 10 subordinate)but Taylor believe manager have already power to handle total subordinates who work in the company.

Taylor give the practical theory like (time and motion theory, stope watch, piecerate system)when g&u gave the prescriptive theory of management
