Happy New Year!

Kickoff is upon us and the build season is about to start.  I hope you were all able to get some rest over the last few weeks.  Good luck to all and see you on Saturday!

Kickoff Details

For those of you unable to attend the kickoff event at Capitol Technology University on Saturday, the kickoff will be webcast and available here.  The webcast will start at 10:15 AM with some intro videos and interviews.  The main portion of the event will start at 10:30 AM and will be followed by a detailed tour of the field.

For the first time, FIRST will also be broadcasting live from the Founder's Reception on Friday January 2nd starting at 7:00 PM.  You can access the feed from this link.

REMINDER:  First Choice will open again on kickoff day.  Don't forget to submit your priority list by January 9th.

Encrypted Manual

The Administrative Manual is now available as well as an encrypted version of the Game Manual here.  It is recommended to download a copy to gain access to the game rules immediately after kickoff.  It typically takes a few hours for the non-encrypted version to be available on the FIRST site.

Rule Change

Per the FRC Blog, a rule change has been released prior to kickoff:

R13         Software and mechanical/electrical designs created before Kickoff are only permitted if the source files (complete information sufficient to produce the design) are available publicly prior to Kickoff.

Game Hint!!

The game hint for the 2015 game can be found here.

DIsplay Opportunity: SLAS

We’ve been contacted by the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) with a request. Every year at the annual conference the SLAS provides space on the exhibit floor to one or more FIRST teams to showcase their robots. Their next meeting will be held in Washington DC at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center from February 7-11 (http://www.slas2015.org/).

We invite FIRST teams to rotate shifts between the exhibit hall hours. The exhibit hall hours are:

Sunday, February 8  4:30 pm - 7:00 pm (Jr.FLL, FLL, FTC and FRC Teams)

Monday, February 9  10:00 am - 6:30 pm (AM and PM shifts, FTC and FRC teams only)

Tuesday, February 10  9:30 am - 6:00 pm (AM and PM shifts, FTC and FRC teams only)

Receptions are held in the hall, so food will be provided for the teams. Parking expenses will be covered, too!

Please complete the following survey if your team is interested in participating.
