GIRLS ON TRACK - WE'VE GOT YOUR BACK

Parents – do you have a girl in 6th, 7th or 8th grade?

We are happy to announce that Girls on Track will be on our campus again next fall!

Girls onTrack is a life-changing character development program. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. Through a combination of running games, group activities, individual goal setting, and a community service project, girls are taught values that lead to a confident sense of self. The goal of the program is to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, and physical development – and the essential skills our girls need before they enter Highschool.

Girls celebrate their end of season accomplishments by participating in a 5k (3.1 mile) walk/run event, supported and cheered on by their families, friends, and our community.

Our Fall 2013 season will begin the week of September 2nd 2013.  Girls meet two times per week after-school for 12 weeks.  The celebratory 5K run will be the 4th Annual GOTR 5K, Saturday November 9th, 2013 at One Mile Recreation Area in Bidwell Park.

Participation is First Come First Served. Teams are limited to 15 girls. However, if we have enough girls sign up to make TWO TEAMS, we will work to find more coaches to accommodate!

Online registration will begin Monday, May 20th. You can visit our website at www.gotrbuttecounty.org for more information and to find the link to our registration page. The program fee is $120 with scholarship opportunities available, so have your girl grab her running shoes and join the Girls on the Run team!

We are also looking for coaches!

Would you like to make a BIG difference and lead girls at our school in a fun, empowering program?  Our program is run 100% by volunteer coachesWe are currently seeking coaches for Girls on the Run 6th - 8th grades) program for the fall season. If you would like to mentor a small team of girls, we’d love to hear from you!

Girls on the Run is a life-changing character development program. We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running.

The coach commitment is to meet with a team of no more than 15 girls twice a week for an hour and 15 minutes. You do not have to be a runner to be a coach - simply passionate about the mission of Girls on the Run, committed to working with a group of girls throughout the 12 week season and able to bring energy and joy to each practice. Practice days/times are determined by the head coach once we have one! J

If you are interested in coaching – please contact Claire Johnson, executive director of Girls on the Run at claire....@girlsontherun.org or 530-636-0786.
