DON’T MISS SPRING 2017 REGISTRATION  - IT'S HAPPENING RIGHT NOW!!!

 

Parents – Do you have a girl in 3^rd, 4^th or 5^th grade? We are thrilled to announce that the Durham Girls on the Run is ready to launch another season!

Our Lottery Registration is open NOW thru January 20th. Registration will close at 5:00pm on January 20th, in order to run the lottery. If your daughter is selected, you will receive an email stating she has a spot on the team and your credit card will be charged. If your daughter is NOT selected you will receive an email that she is on the waiting list, and your credit card WON’T be charged at this time. E-mails will be sent throughout the weekend of January 20-23, 2017.

Our spring 2017 season will begin the week of February 6th. Girls meet two times per week on campus, right after-school (Tuesday and Thursday 3:15-4:30). The celebratory GOTR 5K fun run will be held Saturday, May 6th in Bidwell Park in Durham!

Girls on the Run is WAY more than a running program. Meeting in small teams of 8-15 girls taught by certified Girls on the Run coaches, we teach life skills through dynamic, conversation-based lessons and running games. Running is used to encourage lifelong health and fitness and build confidence through accomplishment. 

At the season's conclusion, the girls will implement a community service project and complete a 5K (3.1 miles) fun run. Completing the 5K gives the girls a tangible sense of achievement as well as a framework for setting and achieving life goals and teaching girls that they CAN.
