We had an outage of about a month. I went by today to investigate and
replaced the power supply and checked the upstream connections in a
wiring cabinet (which all looked fine). It turned out our router was
connected via the LAN port and not the WAN port. This can also explain
the problems they were having on site (because our DHCP server was
leaking on to their network, oops!)
Anyway, fixed up and operational again.
