Thanks for the reply and confirmation Christine.
Chief Judge will be getting 4 other judges.
The appointments for a contest are:
2 x SAA
2 x Timer
Contest Chair - Patricia
2 x Tally Counter
We can divide and conquer these appointments, if you don't mind.
And can I check with you on a few other admin matters:
1. Trophies - do we get our own or do we do them together
2. Certificates - Same question
3. Refreshment - How is it normally done for Hougang TMC and how can we contribute.
4. Program Sheet has to be done as well.
FYI, I have cc-ed my exco email group in this email to keep them updated on it.
Thanks so much for confirming this collaboration.
Cheers,
Thiru
Dear Thiru,
Thank you for the updates and appointment holders. We will ask our Area Governor to find a test speaker. What other contest appointments do we have to find?
We will have 5 contestants for each contests. Having one test speaker for a total of 9 or 10 contestants (from both clubs) would cut at least 10 mins.
Let’s proceed accordingly.
Best Regards
Christine

Christine,
I already confirmed a chief judge and she can get a panel, no problem.
She is just asking if your club can get the test speaker for the evaluation contest.
Patricia lum has volunteered as Contest chair to facilitate a fast session to ensure we complete efficiently. (Only if you are agreeable and you do not have anyone looking to clock the CL for it)
Please understand that my club needs a reply soon so we can move forward with the prep for it, considering it is less than a month to go.
Looking forward to the positive reply and the chance for collaboration.
Cheers,
Thiru

Dear Christine,
My name is Thiru and I am the current president for Punggol TMC.
Thanks so much for even considering the joint contest. In a climate where graciousness is sought out, this is a light our club is grateful for.
I agree with you that timing will always be the greatest issue. How does 4 contestants for each contest sound for you?
The way I see it (4 for each club)
- 8 x 10mins = 80mins (humorous contest)
- 2 x 8mins = 16mins (2 test speakers)
- 8 x 4mins = 32mins (evaluation contest)
- total banter by contest chair and prize giving ceremony = 20minsTotal 148mins = 2hrs 28mins
Starting a meeting at 7pm, we should be able to finish by 930pm. Of course do note that I have added buffer for each of the speech so that we dun go above the time. We will also need a contest chair that can keep to the timing.
I feel it is doable but the final decision is on your committee's hands. The value of the joint contest as we both know are:
-saving resources for appointment holders and logistics
-a very vibrant meeting with 2 clubs learning from each other (chance to scope out the competition in our different areas ;) )
-building on our relationship as toastmasters.Looking forward to your favorable and positive reply,
Thiru Naidu
