Hi,
I'm new to PTGui.
I am trying to make HDRIs for use with Cinema4D using a Ricoh Theta. I have shot bracketed images in DNG format. Obviously I am using PTGui to combine and distort the images.

I am saving out from PTGui in JPEG and HDR formats. What I dont understand is why the JPEGs are coming out bright and clear but the HDR is dark and gloomy.

I have attached a screenshot showing the differencePhotoshop_DQVMtZYgcJ.jpg

Thanks
Sean

.jpg is tonemapped while .hdr is not. HDR formats are not images, but
luminance data with a (usually) much wider dynamic range than can be
displayed on a normal monitor.

Photoshop displays only a fraction of the available dynamic range of HDR
files. You can use the exposure adjustment to scroll through the
complete dynamic range.

If I understood correctly you need the panoramas for IBL. In that case
you shouldn't apply any tonemapping, you need the complete dynamic range.

Do you mean add an Adjustment Layer in Photoshop?

There's a '32 bit exposure' slider in Photoshop, i found a screenshot in
this article:

Guys thank you for this.

Do you know if there are any workflow tutorials documenting the process of making 32-bit HDRi images with the Ricoh Theta cameras for use with 3D software? I have struggled to find any such specific videos.

Not specific, but a good starting point is
