Great new drone - but ptgui has problems to stitch the sky areas with clouds.
I created a template for ptgui to arrange the photos.
Download the temlate and save it to the template folder (in library in macos).
Maybe it needs some more work on it, but for clouds it works well

Hi Herwig,

PTGui 13.2 will position the sky shots automatically!

Hi Herwig,

I just tried a set of the files that you sent me earlier on (43_DNG,
dated 18 May). Start a new project, add the 43 DNG files and PTGui will
position them upon loading.

Doesn't that work for you?

Kind regards,

Joost Nieuwenhuijse

Hi Joost
the 43 shots with the 1x lens 28mm is not the problem.
The more interesting part is the zoom lens 70mm or 2,5x factor with 155 shots.
The upper part with clouds are small pieces and mostly moving. So there is not much of placing control points.
For that I took some photos with static and detailed areas, like the sample I sent to you. These I completed manually to the pattern of the stooting order and created the template.
I wonder, if there is a way ptgui can create the stitching just from the photos. (does ptgui use the metadata from the drone to do the stitching? I handel the photos DNG in Capture One first and export them to pjg for import to ptgui. Did some of the metadata get lost, which ptgui would need?
I sent you samples with 155 as well, i wonder if you got them?

Hi Herwig,

It works for all DNG files you sent me. PTGui positions them
automatically after loading.

The JPGs don't contain the necessary metadata though. This appears to
get lost during raw conversion. Here's what it looks like; PTGui looks
for the GimbalYawDegree and GimbalPitchDegree. You may consider
requesting CaptureOne to support this:

Thanks for the details.
Export from CaptureOne now works with all the metadata. And the result in ptgui is perfect.
Problem solved!

Hi Frank,

DNG conversion is pretty good in PTGui 13. You probably don't need
Capture One.
