Can anyone tell me how to fix or compensate for this error in the Metadata GPS data section when I load DNG files from a DJI Air 3s set to spherical pano mode? I've read that the DJI drones include orientation data, just not in a format recognized by PTGui.

Hi Tim,

The DJI drones don't output GPS compass metadata, only altitude and
longitude.

They do output a GimbalYaw degree value, which I think could well
correspond to the compass angle but I'm not sure about this.

PTGui will by default load the images such that yaw angle in PTGui
corresponds to the GimbalYaw metadata angle. So if GimbalYaw indeed
corresponds to the compass angle, this means that North will always be
in the center of the panorama. If you don't change the orientation of
the panorama, the corresponding compass angle would be 0. You can enter
this in the Metadata tab.

Kind regards,

And a little more information:  adding a spherical drone panorama to Google Maps is quite frustrating, because the 'Initial View' metadata is ignored by Google  Maps.  You'd expect it, then, to use the centre of the image Equirectangle .. but no, it uses 180° from that (i.e., the left/right edge of the image).
