Just a word of caution for those using Intel Graphics after a driver Version:
31.0.101.2130 update yesterday I now get this banding in my image. If I go back and process previous images I get the same banding whereas they had no problems before.

Hi Lincoln,

I assume you are using PTGui 13 beta 9?

Previous beta versions (and PTGui 12 as well) did not use GPU
acceleration for Intel cards. This was switched on in PTGui 13 beta 9
for Intel driver 31.x and later.

From my limited tests (Intel Arc and Iris XE) it appeared to work. But
apparently there still are issues. Most likely these are Intel driver
bugs and I might need to reverse the change.

If you came from Intel driver 30, or from PTGui 13 beta 9 then the
problem will have suddenly appeared because GPU acceleration was not
used previously.

Could you send me the output of Help - System Information so I can see
which hardware you use?

Switching off GPU acceleration in Options - Advanced should solve the issue.

Kind regards,

Hi Joost,
Many thanks for your reply. Indeed switching off GPU Acceleration solved the banding problem.

I am in a Chicken or the Egg situation. PTGui 13 beta 9 was not stitching my Canon EOS 5D with 15mm Fisheye as well as 12.27 l so I had switched back to 12.27 and in the meantime Intel Software & Driver Assistant advised of a Graphics update.
After installing the Graphics update sometime latter I reinstalled PTGui 13 beta 9 and got the banding effect. Before the Graphics update PTGui 13 beta 9 worked without the colour banding effect and with GPU Acceleration.

Many thanks
Lincoln

Hi Lincoln,

According to the system info you have Intel driver 27, not 31:
CL_DRIVER_VERSION: 27.20.100.8681

If you switch GPU acceleration to 'Automatic', then PTGui will (or
should) not use your GPU due to the driver version. Only if you override
this, PTGui will attempt to use GPU acceleration.

So apparently Intel's update was not yet installed? You might try and
see if this solves the issue.

Kind regards,

Hi Joost,
Many thanks for your help. Managed to find and correctly install 3.1 OpenGL. Now everything is working as expected with GPU acceleration etc and I am back on track.
Best Regards
Lincoln
