Hi, I normally shoot my astro panos using my Black Forest Motion motion control setup which works really well and also automatically produces papywizard compatible files to assist PTGui in stitching the panos. I've just got a Beno Polaris motorised head with the Astro module, this allows me to do basically the same thing but includes tracking of the stars too so instead of being restricted to 6-8 second exposures (to prevent star trails) with the BFM gear I can now take much longer shots because of the tracking function.  However and this is the point of my post, there doesn't seem to be any option to create a template file.  Is there a way I can tell PTGui how many rows and images I have shot and the overlap etc.. or is there any other software I can use to generate a papywizard compatible file teht PTGui can use ?  I can of course manually add control points but I'm looking to save time and frustration :-) Any help greatly appreciated.

Have a look at "Align to Grid" (Project menu).

If you use only few shooting patterns repeatedly, you can use the
project file from a first successful stitch as a template for subsequent
stitches with the same pattern. You can even save such a template for
use in the Batch Builder, if you adjust the settings on Project Settings
tab beforehand.

Great Erik, thanks for that. I'd seen that in the menu but for some reason (old age probably) had scrolled on by.  It worked thanks.
