Hello,

I loaded Sony .arw files into PTGui Pro 9.1, but they are displayed
incorrectly (only dark green).
In the PTGui version history I read that Sony .arw files are supported
since Version 8.1.3 (1 April 2009).

The exif data is read correctly.

Can anyone help,

Thanks,
Andreas.

Hello,
You might get better quality from your work if you convert your RAW files to tiff first... Using RAW (arw) is usually considered only a last ditch/"I don't have time and just want to get a quick preview" thing.

Hello,
I do converting from RAW 2 Tiff, but before I do that job, I have a quick look with the raws if the pano has any problems and if I can save the afford of raw to tiff conversion.
With my minolta raw (.mrw) files I never had any problems.

Andreas.

PTGui uses dcraw for raw conversion. If you can get a dcraw version that
does the conversion correctly, simply replace the one in the dcraw
subfolder. Current dcraw version packaged with PTGui is 9.10, most
recent sourcecode on http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/ is 9.11

Thanks for the hint, but I send a test file to PTGui support in the meantime, they will have a look at it.

Hi Andreas,

The problem appears to have been fixed in the latest version of dcraw.
This will be included in the next PTGui update.

Keep in mind that different raw converters will crop the image
differently. If you replace the raw files in PTGui with tiff files
(converted in another raw converter) then the image and any control
points may shift by several pixels. So you would probably need to
generate the panorama from scratch again.

Hello Joost, what about a separate automatic dcraw update?

best regards

Thanks for your fast reply, when will the next PTGui update be available?

It will be available when it's ready..
Probably soon.

If you need it right now, download a recent dcraw binary here:
http://www.insflug.org/raw/
and install it in Program Files\PTGui\dcraw\
