I stitched the same images using the same settings, but found that the DNG files were frequently very muddy, while the TIF files were clear and usable.  FYI, I am attaching the two images for comparison.  Please help!

Thanks!

The DNG contains all tonal values, but the output is compressed. The
TIFF has a blown out sky, hence containing less tonal values, which
results in a better contrast. You can achieve the same for the DNG if
you adjust the image accordingly. But you can also try to apply Tone
Mapping or Exposure Fusion (see panorama editor right flyout menu) to
preserve the sky and enhance the contrast. Or you can adjust settings in
Post Process menu to achieve similar results as with TIFF.

Hi Erik,

Thank you very much for your reply!

Yes, you are correct that the DNG file is unaffected by Tonal Mapping or Exposure Fusion, while the TIF file is. The DNG image looks significantly better after I made adjustments in Camera Raw before stitching.

Is there a difference between adjusting an image in Camera Raw before or after the stitching?
