I've created a Quicktime VR and want to post it to Facebook.  Is that a viable option?  If not, has anyone been successful in posting to Zenfolio or their own website?  What is required?

I haven't had success with facebook, I don't understand the SDK instructions.  I'm not sure about Zenfolio either.  But, I have successfully embedded tours on my own website, www.revolutionimages.net, using an iframe.  This is the website that I use to generate the iframe:  http://7thspace.com/webmaster_tools/iframe_generator.html  My website was built using Adobe Muse and I utilized their "insert HTML' tab to execute the live view.  I know I didn't answer the majority of you query but I hope this helped a little.

I doubt you can do it with QTVRs, since this is an almost dead format.
Perhaps it works with flash. You should have a look at
http://www.facebook.com/groups/panoramicphotographers/
360cities panoramas are embedded there all the time.

you cannot upload qtvr, flash, etc files directly to facebook, but you can embed panos which are hosted on your own website in a facebook page or post by setting up special metatags in the pano pages html header

there is a complete tutorial on facebook pano embeds here -

for example, post this or any pano page from my site to facebook and you will see a working pano embed

this requires you to have the panos hosted on your own site and a bit of knowledge how to modify your sites html code

if this is all confusing, the easy way is to post your panos to 360cities, which allows facebook embeds from their pages

otherwise as erik said, QTVR is pretty much a dead format, flash & html5 are the way to go these days
