Hello, I am trialling PTGui for making HDR image maps for use in 3D and am having a few problems. I am working my way through the video tutorials.
Is anyone else using the Laowa 12mm f2.8 full frame lens? I realize as it is a manual lens I have to enter the lens type and focal length manually but would love to know if others have had success with this lens. Or can recommend a full frame fisheye.PTGUIproblems.jpg
I have a really right stuff pano head set-up that I have calibrated.  I have been trying the camera in vertical format, taking 6 rows of 6 images including straight down and straight up.  3 exposures, 2 stops apart.
After some trouble getting a succesful stitch with an overcast sky I have had some success under trees where there is plenty of texture.  However I although the panorama renders well, I can't get a preview in the panorama editor.

I have the Laowa 12mm zero-D lens for my Canon.  I find it works great for 360's but has more flare shooting into the sun than I would like so I moved to the Canon 8-15mm fisheye zoom.  I haven't tried the 8-15 with full frame yet, so far just with my APS-C Canon.
Regarding the Laowa, if you use Lightroom, you can get a plug-in called LensTagger that will batch add the lens info to the metadata with a couple of clicks.  Should be easy to find and it's donation ware, if I remember correctly.

Hi John,

That's strange. The panorama editor should always show a preview of the
final panorama.

Could you try disabling GPU acceleration? See Options - Advanced. Then,
restart PTGui.

Kind regards,

Thanks for the help. After re-starting PTGui, I was able to get a correct preview.  I've downloaded and set up Lens Tagger and now I have metadata importing into PTGui. I'll look into the Canon fisheye - I can get an adapter for Canon lenses to go on the Sony body.
