When is PT GUI going to support stitching adjusted raw files? This program is a dinosaur. I will not be renewing. The GUI  is absolute garbage. Grow with the times or go away.

What exactly do you mean by that? What do you consider an "adjusted raw
file"?

Hi Mark,

By 'adjusted raw files' I assume you mean that you changed the settings
for a raw image in Adobe Camera Raw and expect PTGui to pick this up?

That's not possible, I'm sorry. The raw files are not actually changed
by ACR, ACR just stores its settings in the metadata. Those settings are
specific to ACR's own algorithms, PTGui cannot use them.

Kind regards,

What is an "adjusted raw files"? Almost by definition it doesn't sound like a raw file any more. When I want to independently edit the raw files I then export as 16 bit tiff for PtGui.

To the other matters ... I find the GUI just fine. The software supports a lot of parametric control, that is difficult to expose in the interfaces used for simpler tasks.

In PS, once you adjust the RAW files, you can't save it it as RAW file again, its output is only TIFF, PS, etc,

I don't understand the question.

IF "adjusted RAW files" is what I use - PTGUI DOES support it.
What is an  "adjusted RAW file" then probably?

In for example DXO you can put in *.DNG (RAW-files from a DJI-drone for example) correct them and put them out as *.DNG. Which you CAN use in PTGUI. As the original files.
This DNG-files are now RGB-files in a DNG-container.

Besides that - in my opinion the reason of the post did not have anything to do with a question concerning RAW-files...

I always understand a RAW/DNG files are what the camera hardware capture.

Once you add anything by doing any edits, it is no longer RAW/DNG, it has fall out of the container. That's why Adobe do not allow, but others like PTGui and Dx0 apparently do.

IDK.

Are any of you familiar with Capture one? It will stitch incorporating non-destructive adjustments. So will Adobe Camera raw. Yes, it converts to a DNG type it can use and outputs a DNG. Its input is an adjusted raw file.

Hi Mark,

It’s the same issue: those edits must be stored in the metadata as proprietary data.

PTGui can create panoramas in DNG format though, so you can stitch first in PTGui, then do any editing in your favorite raw converter.

Kind regards,
