making gigapixel of paintings

Hi I am totally out of this sector of photography

But we have a gigapan epic pro which we can use to take a local spectacle  painting 

can anyone help with gigapan first (what is the maximum of pictures we can shoot nd how)

and with PTgui if it is suitable to stitch the images to get gigapixel

Hi,

Regarding PTGui, it can stitch any configuration of source images, from
any lens, as long as there is no parallax and sufficient overlap (about
20%).
