Hi

I’m having an issue with viewing three rows of files for a blend I am wanting to do.  Please see screen shot attached to this query.

I know that PT Gui can handle this because a friend processed this same batch of images for me the other day in Windows.

Key specifications are as follows:
  1. The chip is an Apple M1 Pro.
  2. The operating system is Tahoe 26.1.
  3. I am using PT Gui Pro Version 13.3.
  4. I am working with 16 bit TIFF files
  5. There are 36 files in total with an average size of circa 128 meg each.
Am getting very frustrated as I can’t move forward until I have solved this issue.

I have tried resizing the images down but this still doesn’t solve the issue.

Cheers.  Hugh Brown.

Hi Hugh,

Could you make the project available for download so I can investigate?

You can share the images with me at sup...@ptgui.com via Dropbox,
Google Drive, wetransfer.com or a similar service.

I would need the source images and your project file (saved through File
- Save Project).

Kind regards,

Thanks for your quick response Joost.

Here is a link to the files.

I'm basically dropping all 36 files into PT Gui and trying to stitch them together.

The output is a PSB file with the individual layers box checked and not blended files.

I'm using the Mercator projection.

I have attached the project file.

Really grateful for your help.  I've spent hours trying to solve it without success.

Kind regards, Hugh Brown.

Hi Hugh,

The files are taken in totally different lighting conditions. They can't
be blended by PTGui into a single panorama. But if I understand
correctly, that's also not what you're trying to do?

In that case, try unchecking this checkbox:
Panorama Editor - Blending - Exposure Compensation

By default PTGui will try to bring the exposures to a common brightness
level before blending. This gives the best results for regular
panoramas. In this case this will not work because the light levels are
completely different.

Hugh,  Have you tried simply using the project file from your friend's successful run on Windows?

Hey Mate.  Not keen to do that as I want to be able to process them myself.

He's shown me with his Windows version that it is possible to do the initial blend in PTG.

By rendering them as individual layer files the images can be aligned in PTG and then the work in Photoshop becomes much much easier.

When I click on the file that outputs from PTG the files are aligned.  The problem is that I can't see the preview to do any adjustment of the horizon line, etc, in PTG.

The files together are intended to produce a blended output.

The main function that PTG is serving is the alignment of things such as the Milky Way and the alignment of the horizon between rows and then the alignment of things such as trees.

Hoping there is a way to solve this given that Windows is able to do it.

Cheers.  Hugh.

It would be a nice opportunity to learn what he's making differently.
Just examine the settings, then try to reproduce.

Hi Hugh,

Please see my previous reply: Disable this checkbox:
Panorama Editor - Blending - Exposure Compensation

That should do it.

Hey Mate.  When I look at the Pro version 13.3 there is no Panorama Editor - Blending - Exposure Compensation menu option...

Thanks mate.  He saw me do it at my end and said I was doing everything the same as what he was.  Says it's an issue with PTG and OSX.

Hey Mate.  No I haven't.  But that doesn't solve the problem in any case.  I need to be able to have the capacity to process these things myself.  This is a complex blend but most of my stuff will be complex going forward.  Cheers.  Hugh.

Hi Hugh,

Open the Panorama Editor window. At the right hand side you'll see a
side bar. One the sections is named 'Blending'. Open that section. In
there you'll find a checkbox named 'Exposure Compensation'. Uncheck that
box.
