Hello everyone,
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the excellent, reliable and stable performance of PTGui.
Until recently, I was working on a project where I took portraits of climate scientists against a panoramic landscape backdrop. Over the years, I have always successfully carried out the stitching using PTGui.
For my new art project, I have reduced my images to a square, which means I am now using the smallest possible panorama unit of two. That may seem ridiculous, but for me it is essential for my new nature photography project. Merging two files, which I create with a horizontal shift of +/- 7 mm using a tilt-shift lens, is actually a piece of cake for Photoshop. However, it turns out that of the two lenses I’m using for the project (30mm and 110mm), the lightweight macro-telephoto lens in particular is prone to significant ‘lens breathing’ when I use the focus-stacking technique.
And then, when PSD gives up, I grin and pull out my tried-and-tested secret weapon: PTGui. Without batting an eyelid, the programme has stitched the two images together every time and delivered a more than satisfactory end result. I will continue to use it as my standard stitching programme.
thank you, best regards,
Dr. Andreas Pohlmann
