ok here is the senario. trying to streamline a process. i take 21
images 7 sets of bracketted exposures. i load those 21 images and
align them go through all the steps to make a pano. the highest
control point is under >2.5 pixels. created this was the pano is
correctly assembled. so i save this pts file as pts-CAF.pts and then
save it a second time as template template-CAF.pts, so they are
essentially the same file saved as 2 different names.

if i then open the batch builder and select the same 21 images and
choose to apply the template i just created i do not get the same
output. the images are not assembled the same way.

if i open batch stitcher and select 'add project' and choose the pts
file that i saved as a template it assembles correctly.

if they are the same files saved seconds apart with only different
names why is the batch stitcher not giving me the same end result?

Probably the problem is in your project Settings.
For example if you have the use EXIF booked it may destroy everything.

This is what you should have booked in it.

In the optimizer you should just unbook all the settings for Optimize
globally.
Especially the a, b, c should not be optimized. Assuming that you have
done a perfect setting for those

You can let PTgui optimize Field of view if you do not have the focus
settings looked.
And Horizontal and vertical shift could also change if you have taken
of and mounted the lens so you can also optimize that.

It depends on how perfect your panoramas are made of course.
The reason I have the Straighten Panorama booked in the above project
settings is that I do not have a perfectly fixed pitch for the
images.
The straighten panorama can adjust for this as long as the first image
is perfectly in level.

Hi,

The batch builder will generate a new project which is based on your
template. They should be identical normally but apparently there's
something wrong here. So could you open the generated project file,
compare it with the original project and see what exactly is the difference?

I made all the changes Hans suggested and saved the pts file again
then saved it a second time as a template overwriting the first 2 file
and the same thing still happened. I see why Hans choose to deselect
certain fields I had them all selected. My templates from here out
will use those settings, thank you Hans.

Joost I open the 2 pts and they are identicle. This time I used the
caf-template.pts file saved from the pts-caf.pts file. when i choose
to select the caf-pts instead of the one saved as a template in the
batch builder and all 15 panos stitched correctly. There seems to be
something wrong with using a template with batch builder instead of
just a regular pts file at least in my case. once I catch up on some
work I am going to try to figure out what is going on a little
better. rigth now i have been able to get past this using the
original pts file instead of saving it as a template.

Hi,

I don't really understand what might be going on here.

For a start could you please send me the faulty project file and the
correct project file? And also send me the template. From that I might
be able to find out what's happening.

Joost
