How to post

Unfortunately Google Groups forums don't support posting from mobile (iOS, Android), only reading. To post a message, use your computer, or, if you must post from mobile, use the Desktop version of the forum: In Android click the ⋮ "more" menu then "Desktop site". On iOS click the “aA” icon then "Request Desktop Website".

Click on the '+ New Conversation' button to post a message. If you don't see this button, you may need to press ☰ to expand the menu bar. A Google account is required; if you don't have one, select More Options -> Create Account.

It's also possible to subscribe by email (no Google account required) by sending an empty email to ptgui+subscribe@googlegroups.com. You will receive a message from Google Groups asking for confirmation. Reply to this email, again with an empty message. You are now subscribed. Once subscribed, messages can be posted to ptgui@googlegroups.com. Be sure to send from the same email address, messages can only be posted from a subscribed address.

Attachments

It's possible to attach files to your posts but Google Groups limits attachments to 4 MB. This is sufficient for sharing a screenshot or a PTGui Project file. For sharing a complete project including source images please use a dedicated file sharing service such as Dropbox, Google Drive or WeTransfer. Include a link to the uploaded file in your message. Consider converting your files to low quality JPEG to reduce the upload and download times.

Understand parallax

Many of the stitching problems reported here are caused by parallax. For a panorama all images should be taken from exactly the same viewpoint. More in particular: the camera should be rotated around the 'no parallax point' (sometimes referred to as the 'nodal point') of the lens. For most lenses this point is located near the front element. If the camera is not rotated exactly around this point, parallax errors will occur, preventing a perfect stitch. Especially indoors a panoramic tripod head should be used to prevent parallax.
