Hi, made some panos with a DJI Mini 5 Pro and PTGui 13 is not able to get the GPS infos :
No location was found in the EXIF data.
No orientation was found in EXIF data.
Those infos are in the XMP data.

I never had issue with my Mavic 2 Pro and the GPS data was also in the XMP ?

Also PTGui does a good job on skies with clouds but really doesn't work great on blue skies, is there a workaround ?

Thank you.Capture d'écran 2026-01-09 003424.png

I have a Mini Pro 5 and do not have these issues. My workflow:
1. Taking in DNG (RAW)
2. Develop in Lr and export to TIFF 16-bit with all EXIF metadata
3. Stitch in PTGui Pro and export to TIFF or JPEG

Interesting… I don't have a "Mini Pro 5", but I tag photos using a Garmin GPS device and myTracks (Mac) software.

It puts this in the EXIF data of individual slices:
GPS Altitude Ref                : 0
GPS Latitude                    : 38.9059930833167
GPS Latitude Ref                : N
GPS Longitude                   : 1.43622804999722
GPS Longitude Ref               : E
GPS Position                    : 38.9059930833167 1.43622804999722
GPS Status                      : A
GPS Version ID                  : 2 3 0 0

And this shows up in the stitched panorama:
GPS Latitude                    : 38.9059916666667
GPS Latitude Ref                : N
GPS Longitude                   : 1.43622778333333
GPS Longitude Ref               : E
GPS Position                    : 38.9059916666667 1.43622778333333
GPS Version ID                  : 2 2 0 0

Could your DJI Mini 5 Pro be using different tags for its GPS data?

This is as reported by exiftool. I think it inserts spaces in the tag names for readability.

Hi Jerome,

Your tiff files have gps data but it's embedded in a nonstandard
location, only in the 'drone-dji' xmp namespace. Therefore PTGui doesn't
recognize it. Could you share your DNG files with me so I can
investigate those as well?

Regarding the color issues in the sky, please take a look at the
attached screenshot. This shows the unblended panorama, So there's a
significant color difference in your tiff files. When processing your
DNG files, use the same settings for all images. Also, don't apply
shadow/highlight correction, as this will process all images
differently, leading to brightness differences. It's best to apply those
after stitching. You could also try loading DNG directly in PTGui.

Hi Joost,
You're right, gps data is in exif and xmp data in dng files, so lightroom removes it from exif when exporting, never had this issue before...
For the sky I learned something, will have to modify my workflow ;)
Of course all the images have the same settings, but wasn't aware that pulling down the highligts and bringing up the shadows could be an issue (well it's an issue only on blue skies because I always did this and never had issues on cloudy skies or elsewhere)
Thank you for looking, will dig to understand why Lightroom removes the gps data from exif.
Do you still nee my dng files ?
Best

Yes if you don't mind, could you share a set of DNG files? I don't have
these from the Mini 5 Pro yet.
