Hi,

I've managed to install PTGui in a headless mode on Linux by following the instructions in the official documentation. I'm also able to generate panorama's via the command line.

However I'm running into out of memory issues often.

Where can I change the RAM settings for PTGui on Linux when there is no GUI?

Thank You!

Hi,

You need to edit ~/.PTGui/Configuration.xml and set:

<Config>

(...)
<Option Name="AutoMaxRamUsage" Type="Bool" Value="0" />

<Option Name="MaxRamUsage" Type="Int" Value="8000" />

(...)
</Config>

(8000 means 8000 MB).

If you used the vncserver approach, you can of course also use a vnc
client to display the GUI.

Kind regards,

Thank you! I tried changing the max memory but I’m still getting out of memory errors when running multiple image stitching jobs, even though the server has 16GB of RAM. Is there a way to prevent PTGui being killed by the system?

Thank You!

That's strange. You might want to check if your configuration is applied
correctly by opening PTGui and checking the Options screen.

Also, make sure you have enough temporary disk space. If the disk is
full PTGui will continue eating RAM as a last resort. You would see a
warning message on stdout though.
