Today I used (after a long time) PTGui 11.32 to stitch a 1-line cylindrical panorama. I then got an error popup saying
"
Error: OpenCL error: CL_BUILD_PROGRAM_FAILURE (-11) in function clBuildProgram
"
asking to contact PTGui and include Help - System information, which I herwith do:

Hi Joost,

I unchecked GPU acceleration in the settings now, and also restarted Windows. After this, PTGui seemed to work normally, not showing the mentioned error message again. I could edit the pano as usual. However, when I try to save the project, I get

and when I try to create the panorama I get

It seems as if the program somehow confuses read and write operations.

What's wrong now?

Thanks,
Wolfgang

Hi Wolfgang,

I think this means that the folder containing the project file has
disappeared in the mean time. PTGui tries to save the project or the
panorama, but windows says this is not possible.

I think this is because you are running PTGui directly in your Windows
photo library. Windows creates a temporary folder for the exported
photos. Once PTGui has launched, Windows deletes that folder again.

The solution is to export your photos to a directory on your computer
first. Then stitch the exported photos.

Kind regards,

Joost Nieuwenhuijse

Hi Joost,

either I don't understand you, or you don't me. The error messages show up when I try FOR THE FIRST TIME to save the project or the panorama itself. Obviously, in this case there can't be a file that it can't find. The directory that I want to save them in is the same where the individual pictures that PTGui stitched are located, it did of course not "disappear in the meantime".

Can you please clarify?

Thanks,
Wolfgang

This is a windows error message, so don't be surprised, if it's a bit
confusing, this is normal:

Most likely Windows wants to tell you, that it can't find the path, or
that it can't write into the folder. If you get this message again,
simply try to save to a different folder.

Hi Wolfgang,

It is possible: suppose you have a folder with images. Launch PTGui,
load the images, then delete the folder and then attempt to save the
project. This would lead to the error message you showed.

It's just a guess, I was not behind your computer when it happened but
you can easily verify my hypothesis by opening Windows Explorer.

It is Windows, not PTGui, which refuses to write the file. PTGui just
passes the error message. Normally if you get 'Datei nicht gefunden'
while writing a file, this means that the destination folder does not exist.

Whether my guess is correct I don't know, but I hope you understand me now!

Kind regards,
