I really would appreciate some feedback on this ...

It's aimed very much at the pro/serious amateur wanting to post-process a 360 photo stitched image.

I agree with Roger, the "why" is eluding me... I thought this is what the flexify filters in photoshop would do? (besides, since I am the biggest fan of little planets </irony> I am sure it'll be a great success)

Since I am not the target audience, the only feedback I can give is to get rid of the fake "free version": a water marked output is NOT a free version, it's a tryout (a bad one at best) or a demo, a truely free version would be fully functional, but maybe restricted in output size.

Well, i often use flexify transformations, ok, I use 10 of them over 200. For all the rest, I cannot but garde. Why????

I think it looks interesting and adds some control abilities that would make it much more versatile than Flexify. I especially am intrigued by the ability to stack effects and manipulate previous ones without having to backtrack/undo the newer ones. It appears you have written it in Java; I hope it will be able to handle large images - I have used some Java-based software that chokes with larger sizes. What is your anticipated price?

Don't get discouraged by some of the harsher opinions you get here. One of the things that is good in this community is that people will actually tell you what they really think, even if it seems harsh, so you do get useful feedback. This is in contrast to a lot of online communities where everyone tells you they think everything is just wonderful, when some criticism could have helped you improve your work.

I, for one, look forward to giving it a try to see if it can help me achieve some artistic visions I may have. I hope you get the Mac version ready soon.

I've had a look at flexify ...

good looking product, big plus that it is a photoshop plug in ... will probably even buy a copy as it looks like a whole heap of fun ...

BIG difference in what it does ...

Flexify applies a mathematical projection to the WHOLE image and transforms it

Through Strange Eyes (TSE) gives you artistic control over which elements of the picture are important and you can expand and contract to give the impression you want.  Something that is not clear on the vids at the moment is on the square projections there are four buildings positioned at North, East, South and West ... this did not happen by accident ... there is a quad space transform that lets you select the four compass points and stretches and squeezes the image to make it so.

Will think more on free/watermarking issue ... originally was going to just limit the output size ... but then thought that people want to see what it is like at full scale (in terms of performance too) ... might do a combination of small (say 1000 x 1000) without water mark larger with ... any other thoughts welcome.

Also not sure what size images people want to work with ... currently the largest image I have put through it is 12,000 x 6,000 to generate a 9,000 x 9,000 image which I had printed 1m square.  Feedback on what size images you would want to process would be welcome too.

Also well spotted it is a Java app, currently using the Nimbus look and feel, I might change it to use the Native look and feel for the final release ... at the moment it does mean that I can make platform neutral videos.

Any thoughts on where/how to promote would be welcome too.

If you have phisical limits in output resolution, no problem.

Just let the image we throw in to be, in case, scaled down at the maximum usefully accepted resolution. Having to downscale the panos at a precise ratio is a pain.

Let people do a 1000x1000 with an unintrusive credit watermark left down, put serious watermarks for higher res, and have a smart price policy.
