Hi

I'm using the latest PTGUI 9.1.3 on Windows 7 Ultimate. The numerical transform popup window hangs PTGUI. Is anybody else having the same problem? Is there a way to fix or disable this bug? Will it be fixed in future updates of PTGUI?

Steps to reproduce:
1. I load my project
2. I go to the Panorama Editor (i.e. preview of the final panorama)
3. I click Always stay on top in the Panorama Editor, which I often do to make sure it stays on top of the main PTGUI window, useful for doing the masking in a single monitor PC setup
4. I click on the Numerical transform button (the button that has "123" on it)
5. PTGUI hangs

What I think it's trying to do is to make the numberical transform on top, while making the Panorama Editor on top at the same time. The two windows are competing to be on top in an endless loop. I think this is the case because sometimes the two windows start flashing like crazy, seemingly trying to get on top, but unable to do so because of the other window.

The only way out of this is to kill PTGUI, lose any unsaved work in progess. Then start PTGUI again, work on the project while trying to avoid doing the steps to reproduce mentioned above :(

Here PTGui doesn't actually hang, but the Numerical Transform dialog is
behind the Editor. I can see it in the task bar (or Alt+Tab it) and if I
minimize Pano Editor, move it away or simply switch off "Always on Top"
I can access it.

Now after some more testing I can actually see it's not doing it all the time. In fact, when I rearrange windows, it's pretty hard to replicate. I'm almost sure this has something to do with how windows are cascaded, which are maximized, which are visible, etc. Sometimes it even happens when the "always on top" is NOT selected.

Erik, the problem not that I can't see the windows, but that PTGUI hangs... see the two attached screenshots.

I just tried it on Windows 7 64pro and I didn't see the hang. I did see that the numerical transform window was buried under other windows but I could get to it by moving the windows that cover it.

So my test didn't reproduce the problem.

Hi all,

I observed that PTGui (9.1.3. pro on Windows 7 64) hangs reproducibly if I
use numerical transform and then instead of closing first the popup menu of
the numerical transformation close the panorama editor first. The popup
window stays and starts to flicker, the program is not responding anymore.
It happened to me a number of times and is well reproducible. Could that be
what Jan observed? I wanted to report this anyway as it is a bit annoying. I
hope that it can be fixed.

Regards, Claudia

I can't reproduce that on my W7 64 either. Not doubting that you see it. Just I can't reproduce it.

I suspect there is some other condition or window that is involved.

I noticed that it only happens if I have some pictures loaded (not on an
empty project) and only if I applied some transformation before closing the
panorama editor window (not just open the numerical transformation and close
panorama editor before applying any transformation). Did you test under
these conditions?

No, can't repeat it. Did what you described. Weird.
