Does DNG raw export effectively eliminate former size/dim restrictions (TIFF export)?

Hi PTGui team and others,

I shoot and stitch really large panos and do PP in CaptureOne. Until v13 and a DNG workflow, one of the most frustrating restrictions was the file size limit with TIFFs. Since storage and processing is no longer a real issue, that was the main limitation preventing processing and printing panos with 'awesome' resolution.

Am I correct in assuming that limitation is now gone if I follow a complete DNG raw workflow in PTGui from import to export?

Thanks for any feedback and regards,
Chris

(Yes I know there was/is Adobe PS and the PSB file type, but a) I will not use Adobe's licensing system and b) I've found PS getting quite unstable when handling large PSB) :-)

Hi Chris,

I'm afraid the problem still exists. PTGui can export DNGs larger than
4GB, but in my testing no application (including C1 and ACR) was able to
read those.

Kind regards,

Hi Joost,

Thanks a lot for the feedback and clarification!
Hope C1, ACR and others fix that eventually - file sizes will get bigger and bigger...

An end-to-end DNG workflow in PTGui is great nonetheless, so thanks for that! :-)
